Monthly meeting place of Italian Motorcycles every last Tuesday of the month starting around 7pm.
If you associate “bikers” with beer, think again. Around here, we associate bikers with espresso. On the last Tuesday of every month, the Italian Motorcycle Biker’s club meets at Cafe Calabria around 7.00pm. You don’t need a motorcycle to show up. Just come down and get a sidewalk seat to see the row of Ducati’s and Classic Italian bikes parked outside Cafe Calabria on Commercial Drive. If you love coffee and love motorcycles, this is the place to be.
Old school meets new school, as Cafe Calabria on Commercial Drive, the oldest Italian coffee house in Vancouver, has launched a website after 35 years in business.
Having developed a loyal customer base that shows their appreciation by return patronage and referring new customers, Cafe Calabria has built its business on word-of-mouth. Now that the Commercial Drive demographic has changed from old school Italian pioneers to more Gen X and Gen Y consumers, Cafe Calabria has answered their current customers’ requests to “view something online”.
The Cafe Calabria website features its coffee and food menus, a media archive, and a community blog called “Coffee Chatter”. Although the site includes images of the Roman statues and paintings that dominate the cafe’s decor, the images do not do justice the cafe’s interior. Visit the site www.cafecalabria.ca to learn more, but you have to come down in person to get the true customer experience.
